Long long time ago in a far away land, there is small village in an island called Kua Village.
The Kua Village is located in the middle of the island where the western part of island is an unexplored place full of weeds and thorns. None of the villagers like to go near this region as they do not have the appropriate tools to cut the thorns.
The eastern part of the island is a very slippery slope where the end of the slope is a broad river. Villagers always fish around this area to hunt for food.
The northern part is another place the villagers do not like to go. The area was take over by a group of gangster that like to fight. They have their own boxing arena where they fight from time to time.
The southern part of the island is where the source of the village come from. There have a huge gold mine and is guarded by "Lao Huang Kua" (老黄瓜). Lao Huang Kua is in charge of guarding and polishing the gold from gold mine.
There live a green color fat and round Kua with light green stripes. He is a foolish kid, so everyone call him "Sa Kua" (傻瓜). Sa Kua like to sit at one corner, with saliva dripping from his mouth and day dreaming.
In one fine day, Sa Kua get a strike went through his mind which burn his passion to explore the unexplored land at the western region of the island. It never happen before to Sa Kua. Without further ado, he pack his water bottle and his favorite sandwich into a beg, open the refrigerator and greet his neighbor "Dang Kua" (冬瓜) good bye. Dang Kua was shock with Sa Kua unplanned decision and advise him not to do so. However, the burning passion in Sa Kua burn every words coming from Dang Kua and he insist to continue with his adventure.
Sa Kua walk and walk heading to the west, crossing people's house, farm, drill through jungle and finally he reach the unexplored land, a large field of weeds and thorns
He was so excited on his success and wanted to make his 1st step on this land, then a * flup * sound, he fell into a hole full of weeds and thorns.
Poor Sa Kua, he was wounded badly by the thorns but still have to crawl out from the hole and walk back to village to heal his wound. His whole body bleed and bleed until whole body turn red, some of the wound from thorn recover showing black spot. Sa Kua body turn from green stripes to black spotted with red.
Finally he manage to reach his village. All the villagers was shocked seeing what happen to Sa Kua. Tang Kua come out and explain what happen to Sa Kua. After hearing the explanation from Tang Kua, the whole village burst out laughing and they decide to give him a new nick "Xi Gua" (西瓜) because Sa Kua was heading to the west of the island.
Sa Gua is now become Xi Gua.......
